Where does Shalom Nashville Meet?
In this season, we are meeting in various homes and locations in the greater Nashville area every Saturday. The location will be emailed once you contact us.
We also meet for various feasts and Holidays.
If you know of a location that would be open to housing us on a more consistent basis, please let one of us know!
Why do you meet on Saturdays?
Shalom Nashville chose to meet on the Biblical Sabbath. This is not in exclusion to those who meet on Sunday or a belief that this is the only way. It was a preference for the Bible Study time that we all enjoyed. We do not hold exclusionary theology in this matter, but rather preference for this season.
Can I attend your Bible Study, Outreaches or
Events?
Absolutely!
Please use the "Visit a Bible Study" button above to contact us!
Our EVENTS PAGE has all of our volunteer opportunities and events open to the public.
Come be the hands and feet with us!
Are you a Messianic group?
We are Messianic friendly, without Rabbinic overtones. We are a group of Jewish born and Non-Jewish born believers in Jesus studying the word with Jewish context and culture. We do celebrate the Biblical feasts, with Jesus at the center, but not to the exclusion of other holidays. We are not a part of any Messianic Organization.
Are you a Hebrew Roots group?
No, we do not adhere to Hebrew Roots theology. We also do not believe in any form of "One Law" theology. Our theology lines up with most main stream Christian denominations, while celebrating biblical feasts with Jesus at the center.
Can I wear a Tallit or Kippah to your gathering?
We encourage all believers to stand with their own convictions, while discouraging each one to feel the need to be anything other than who God made them. This is not a place for those grafted in to come and look "Jewish" and this is also not a group that will tell a Jewish born believer to do that either.
We believe YOUR identity is in your Messiah, all else is secondary.
Are you a church/
congregation?
Currently, we are a community bible study, with the goal for Outreach. To Israel, the nations, refugees, widows, orphans, homeless, single mothers and any that the Lord places in our path. We are a fledgling ministry with the main goal to BE the hands and feet of our Messiah.
If you would like to partner with us through donation, volunteering or if you have a ministry that needs volunteers- please contact us!
As the Lord provides, we may open up 1-2 Saturdays a month, in a building atmosphere, to accommodate for larger studies.
Who is your Pastor?
In our current model, we do not have "top down" leadership with one man at the top. We consist of an Elder board that includes the President/Shepherd/teacher, Financial Officer/Teacher, Vice-President/Prayer Leader/Teacher and 2 other volunteers for Administration and Outreach, who are not on the board.
We are blessed to have many other leader types in this group who can teach and guide, if needed.
What about Financial trasparency?
Financial transparency is incredibly important to our board. As Shalom Nashville grows, the goal will be to join a third party Christian council to hold us all financially accountable. Until then, we will post the financial breakdown on our website twice a year.
None of our staff takes a paycheck. Because of this, all of the donations are able to be used directly for operating costs and outreach.
Is there Spiritual Accountability built into this ministry?
In a world where we see Christian leaders on pedestals, failing and falling, we have built into this ministry, open accountability. Open not just within the board and body, but we have built into the by-laws the office of Over-seers, who are vetted and trusted believers that are outside of the organization as a third party accountability option. The Over-Seers are available for any disputes, prayers or just to be a listening ear to leadership as the need arises.
As a brand-new ministry, the board is currently interviewing and vetting possible trustworthy people for this position. They are taking their time in prayer and ask that you do the same.
Accountability and transparency keeps leaders healthy, humble and quickly checked if the enemy gets a foot hold. The goal is to also protect others in Shalom Nashville from the heartache of a leadership split or moral failing.
