What is a Messianic Haggadah?
A traditional Haggadah will walk you through the Passover seder, retelling the Exodus and God's redemption of the Israelites with various symbolisms, prayers and interactive actions for the purpose of celebration and teaching the next generation.
A Messianic Haggadah does all this, but in light of Jesus/Yeshua, the "Last Supper", and God's ultimate plan for redemption. His son is the Passover lamb.
One of Yeshua’s last earthly acts was the celebration of the Passover. In Jerusalem, He gathered His friends and led them in a seder ("order", a meal and retelling) .
During this particular seder, Yeshua revealed to them the mystery of God’s plan of redemption. He spoke to them of His body and blood, explaining that He would have to die. It was no coincidence that the Messiah chose the Passover for the setting of what some would later call “communion” or The Lord’s Supper.
As the depth and significance of the Passover Lamb unfolded, the course of history was forever changed.
Here at Shalom Nashville, we believe that seeing the Passover through the eyes of the Messiah is a beautiful way to celebrate His sacrifice and resurrection, delivering us from our sin and teaching the next generation how deep His plan is for us.
Seeing Jesus in the Passover, is seeing scripture come alive.
We have created a beautiful, yet simple Messianic Haggadah ("Telling") for your use digitally or to print. Each person is able to have access on their phone or you can put it on a screen for all to follow. This would be great for Family Seders, Small groups or churches!
